Welp, now it seems that the classic version is crashing left and right….it seems to be mostly if you open a cam of someone in the new version…or possible and IM popping up from someone in the new version…it seems that the end is in sight for classic.

So far, our Trivia and Music bots are holding strong…but I heard rumors of Pal starting to crack down on people with classic….or I am sure they will stop classic login all together shortly.

Any progress in developer land with interfacing with the new Pal?

That is still “classic” Paltalk and I have had mixed results running some older bots (like the cam helper app) on 802. I am referring to the NEW GENERATION Paltalk. The new style similar to what they released on OSX,

IF they get rid of support for Classic (I assume that means 602, 802 or any future version) then we don’t have any working bots any more. I am asking here because I know the creator of the bots I use for Music and Trivia are here as well….our room relies HEAVILY on trivia and music. We don’t use admin bots or anything else….I have used the CamHelper app and I have played with a bunch of the quick bounce and admin apps…but realistically the Music and Trivia are our daily bread and butter.

I think the 602 version works but 802 does not…which….may not matter in a bit anyway as they have posted they are going to stop classic edition

Well here you go everyone…

Classic is going away……anyone have any news on the NG front? Our room will die without the music bot and trivia bot we run…

ohhh sad news if not…..during the beta process I did suggest that paltalk create an API to allow programmers to hook into text/sound/mic/video but never heard back anything on that.

We us a music bot and trivia bot heavily in our room….so my hopes were that someone would come up with a program library to allow you to adapt programs to NG.

BTW, they just released a similar beta for Windows (same layout and functionality of the Mac Beta)…..you can install both the new Beta and classic Paltalk at the same time, but not run them at the same time.

I tried this…and it is fantastic.  Some of the new ways of doing things are very streamlined….there is some things missing, like the font styles/color support….and a few other things…but over all it is a good direction.   I hope it keeps going….

I know there is at least 2 rooms currently in Paltalk that do just this…play a song, and you have to type in artist and/or song name  Works just like trivia….etc…I don’t know what software they are using..

with 11.5 they changed how to enter as admin to rooms…no longer admin code, from the room list you just right click and ‘enter as admin’ but from favorites list you still need to right click, then select owner of room and click OK.  VERY inconsistent, but the 11.5 265 beta has been pretty stable as far as not crashing…..

11.5 Beta stops auto room connect on start…..11.4 264 still works.  Check box to ignore errors doesn’t stick when saving settings.  Still getting occasional error messages.  Tried with latest beta 11.5 570 and with Manycam, cam on and HD media player, system slows to a crawl….also with 11.5 they changed how to enter as admin to rooms…no longer admin code, from the room list you just right click and ‘enter as admin’ but from favorites list you still need to right click, then select owner of room and click OK.  VERY inconsistant, but the 11.5 265 beta has been pretty stable as far as not crashing…..

this one slows my machine to a crawl when running HD MediaPlayer and using Manycam….the 564 release was fine…crashed nightly…but every was responsive….after a couple seconds the machine starts slowing with this beta….to a crawl…..I now have to revert back to production version…yuck…

Seems that the latest beta breaks this…..11.5 build 565.  Any ideas?

It did not error for me…however I can no longer log into a room as admin….no matter how I try, instead of admin “code” box, I get to choose the room owner box…then it tries to log me in the room but rejects me as if I typed in the wrong admin code.

THANK YOU….Ok…this looks fantastic….I gave it a quick whirl and here is what I found/noticed…

 

I didn’t try it with WinAmp….only Spotify and Chrome.

1. It worked in Spotify after I launched it when spotify was already running.  If I launched it first, it didn’t work.

2. Is there a  way to customize the text like you can in spotify bot….for instance “is now playing: $song”

3. Every time I skipped to the next song, it seems to bring Spotify up from being minimized….Spotify bot didn’t do this.

4. Song in Away worked well…room name didn’t do anything….and I guess you can’t do both at the same time?

5. Chome worked..but it seems to be trying to do something to the pages…kind of like opening Spotify…

What does the Mute Words do?  prevent it from posting if that specific combination of words are in the title?

The design and layout are fantastic…..well done! small and compact!
