Hi all
I am posting this program as a beta, although it seems to work smoothly (for me,) I need it tested. Also I have’nt decided on a name for it yet so it is “unnamed” LOL.
Currently implemented auto cams, but I’ll add more features.
Tested with both 9.1 and 9.2 on WindowsXP. Vista should work, NT/2000 maybe too.
I don’t think it will work on 95/98/Me.DESCRIPTION:
Bottom pane: seperated from the tabs above it.
Left top: room connected status.
Left bottom: roos list combo box.
Right top: Disconnect button (only enabled when connected to a room.)
Right bottom: Connect button, only enabled when there’s a room oppen, and no room is connected.File menu:
“Connect to Paltalk”” disabled when there no instance of paltalk running, changes to “Disconnect from Paltalk” after connection.
“Exit”: the obvious.Cams tab:
Auto View: select which cams you wish to start automaticaly, none, favorites (from the list on the right), favorites + admins (that has @ on, or all). Cams start about a second after they are published, and not more than one cam per second.
Auto publish my Cam: not implemented, thinking to remove it.
Add to Favorite Cams: add the user currently selected in the room to the list.
Delete: deletes the selected user from the list (only enabled when a user is selected.)
Delete all: deletes all user from the list (enabled only if list is not empty.)General tab:
Auto save preferences: saves changes made to any of the settings including the users in the list upon exit without confirmation.
Auto connect to Paltalk: connectes do paltalk as soon as the aplication start and/or paltalk is running.
Auto connect Room: connects to a room as soon as it is oppened and there is no other room connected (only one toom can be connected at a time,) or at application startup if there’s a room open.NOTES:
If you leave it on and don’t have auto arrange video windows which also closes inactiva cams you may end with a lot of video windows all over the screen and on top od each other. My recommendation is to exit or disable it wgile you step away.INSTALLATION:
Just extract the files (preferably in they own directory)
the DLLs must not be in a shared directory, and must be in the same directory as the EXE file.
Always update the program with the DLLs it comes with.
If you get an error when it start you may need the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package.REPORTING:
If you are using this program, please report bugs if you encounter any. Try to give as much details as you can (crash message, incorrect behavior etc. what steps lead to the error and such.)
Ideas for additions are welcome as well.TODO:
Next i plan to add some annoyance killers, like “auto closing unwanted PMs and usless notifivations.
After that, mic wtacher, which will hold the mic up, reddot (if luser is an admin) and take it back in case it was taken by an admin, reaquire the mic after it was not used for certain amount of time, etc.And of course a name for the program LOL. BTW if someone can make an icon for me, Admin style with a cool C in it I’d appreciate it.

BTW, I got that error whe i first tryed, but im going to download the VC++ 2005 SP1 and then try again ill get back with results
December 1, 2007 at 5:21 am #176514DepartureMemberlooks nice but what does it actually do? okay i see it adds nicknames to the listbox, but it does’nt automatically start there web cam when entering the room, if thats whats its mean to do????
Once again it is a good demostration on hooking the window messages but I dont get what its meant to actually do?December 1, 2007 at 7:55 am #176513ChikeMember@Departure wrote:

Hmm the cam viewers should start automaticaly after the cam is published, according the “Auto View” selection, you say they don’t start? Did you try it with “All Cams”?
Oh btw, I forgot to mention it does not auto view your own cam LOL I suppresed that, maybe I should allow it if you add yourself to the list.@Departure wrote:

Actually I could do without the hooking to look for paltalk instances. What does the main job is pallib which subclass the window and send the application the changes in user states (cam, mic reddot etc.) This way I avoid polling and messing with users lists which would waste cpu and will take forever to debug. I like to keep things simple 🙂

An icon for the application, the executable and the window/taskbar too, have no idea what i need LOL.

Didn’t get that, doen’t work right? Can you be more specific?

Ummmmm don’t think so… can you open a cam while you’re typing? 😛
Anyway I am not going to do anything that’s against the EULA and paltalk terms of service, and may put peaople in trouble.
Anyway all features, current and future, are and will be only what a user can do by himself. basically just automating things. Things that make my life easier or I was hoping to see in paltalk, to make it a better experiance.
And it gives me something to do to fill the day 🙂December 2, 2007 at 12:32 am #176510ChikeMemberFixed a bug where if a favorite is an admin and favorite only is selected, the cam is not started. Also the names are now sorted.

Thanks for the report.
Is it the update or the the first version I posted that you are using?
The one thing I haven’t tested is being an admin in the room LOL but I walked the code again and it should not make any difference if you are an admin or not.
Currently cams open automaticaly only when they are published. The upcoming update will have an option to open cams on connection to the room. I will post it as soon as I am done testing it.
Can you try the View All just to make sure if cams do not open at all.December 5, 2007 at 8:35 pm #176507The_Nekkid_DJMembersure, I will try it now….I also will try not as admin.
I am using the update that you posted in the room.
So as cams are turned on….they will auto open, or only as you enter the room?

Cams open only if they are published after you enter the room… for the next hour or so LOL until I post the update when I am confident with it .
December 5, 2007 at 10:09 pm #176505ChikeMemberHere’s another update to this program.
Aside from bug fixes, it has few new features.File menu:
Added save preferences (just in case you may crash, lets hope it never happen 🙂 )Cams tab:
“View on room connect” check box. This will start cams according to the view preference, right after you connect to a room, whether you auto connect on startup, a new room is openned or you click connect.
Beware of using this option in very busy rooms/All Cams. My computer choked on it a little LOL but then I only have a pentium 4.The application is now minimized to system tray. You can re-open it by double clicking the tray icon, or by right clicking the tray icon and choosing Show from the menu.
Favorite cams may also be added from the tray menu.Next I am going to try to implement some admin features. Starting with mic keeper which will include admins only, re-aquiering mic upon lose (e.g. mic jump,) and no use of mic (time based)
Maybe a room/cam greeter.
Possibly fast flooders dot.
Admin features will only be available if connected as admin, and will be paused while dotted, meaning you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to control it LOL.
Any ides like that that you can think of please post them here and I’ll consider adding them.Changed the attached file for a quick bug fix.

What windows version they are using? And if it isn’t too hard I’d like a screen capture of the error window (a picture worth a 1000 words LOL, alt+print screen capture the front window.)
I’ll try running on a computer that does not have them installed and see what can be done.
