January 7, 2009 at 6:40 pm #175904The_Nekkid_DJMemberYup loco….anything you need give me a hollar…..you can still run Windows on it if you want, either in Virtualization (VMware or Parallels) or partition your HD to have an actual Windows boot partition…then just boot back and forth….what I do for Pal 8-)….

January 7, 2009 at 9:17 pm #175903AdminAdministratorYeps i was planning on putting vista, but man I might get my ass kick for this but after using mac I can honestly say mac os is much better lol
:swift:
One thing you guys dont have the issue with version 9.5 of the bot right 🙂January 9, 2009 at 4:39 pm #175902The_Nekkid_DJMembernope…bot been working okay, I see the same error as Tooley now and then, but with memloader and paltalk it has been pretty stable…I have almost 9000 tunes in the bot now…takes a long time to generate song list template…but that okay, I dont add that often.
BTW, you can run paltalk on OSX by using WINE…or the commercial version called Crossover Mac, by the company Codeweavers who does the commercial version of W.I.N.E. For those that dont know…WINE started on Linux to run Windows programs without having Windows installed. Works very well for some programs….really is hit or miss. ALSO, get the Microsoft Remote Desktop program and keep a windows machine handy on your network…if you HAVE to do something in Windows….then just fire that up and remote your Windows machine, or Install VNC. I use VNC for my jukebox machine, since RDC kills the audio.
Also, get REAL BASIC for OSX, or download Xcode from Apple for programming environment…of course you can use Python or a number of other languages….

January 9, 2009 at 7:27 pm #175901AdminAdministrator🙂 thanks I was checking Xcode it look pretty similar to vb will see i might get into it. I install vista business man it runs faster on my mac then on the core duo laptop I had wtf lol
January 11, 2009 at 1:45 am #175900The_Nekkid_DJMemberYeah, Xcode lets you do a bunch of coding, as well as free Java based compilers too….but Applescript is the most similar…..an “english language” type programming environment like Basic…..but like I said, I know a lot about this stuff, I just don’t just actually PROGRAM 8-).
I really need to take some time and learn. I can script in Unix (what I need to do) and I can do basic Applescript (not Applescript Studio like in Xcode).
It is just a shame there is no Paltalk client. If they would do it right, they could actually put hooks in the app to allow you to do all that normally you need to “hack” otherwise. Applescript is a great way to script programs to work together. You can talk to apps to do things, pass info back and forth, and even launch unix scripts from within Applescript.
And yes, I know Windows runs faster on a Mac than most other laptops…btw…you made sure to install Apple’s Windows drivers correct? If not, make sure you boot into windows (if using dual boot) and put in the DVD 1 that came with your computer….the drivers will install from there……Then run Apple Software Update to make sure you have the latest.

January 11, 2009 at 1:48 am #175899The_Nekkid_DJMemberAlso look into CodeWeavers Crossover product…for those in the *nix world…it is the commercial version of W.I.N.E which lets you run some Windows apps without installing Windows. Last I checked…SOME of Paltalk worked…Office works well…as well as other programs…and games.

Man I was thinking the same thing if paltalk made the client for macs I for sure would be trying the xcode thing :sn:
January 12, 2009 at 3:30 pm #175897The_Nekkid_DJMemberThere might be, I don’t do a lot of torrents…good luck! 😎
