Paltalk BETA period change log

I figure its a cool idea to know what changes they making so here it is 🙂

This file contains a list of changes, feature upgrades and repairs made during the BETA period for Paltalk version 8.2

Bug fix: moved service level header to left so button is not jammed against right side

Feature: added option to Whisper function that keeps the whisper Box open in rooms to send multiple whispers to the same person.

Bug fix: added catg/subcategory to results of room search’s.

Bug fix: when nudges are muted in prefs, we now stop the Im window jumping topmost and shaking when a nudge is received.

Bug fix: alert admin of misconduct was disabled for all members, – fixed.

Bug fix: Setup > account management. Some members had problems deleting nicknames form PC, fixed.
*

Bug fix: Setup > account management, current logged on nickname removed from the list as it cannot be deleted.
*

Feature: added option ‘Load custom video overlay’ in the now publishing video window to allow members to load in any .swf file and use it as an overlay.

Bug fix: changed the Overlays Dir from program files/Paltalk messenger/overlays, to Documents & SettingsuserApplication DataPaltalkoverlays, to enable members logged into non-admin XP/2K/NT accounts to load in custom overlays.

Bug fix: room search now supports Arabic fonts.

Version: V8.86.1.117 was not released as a public beta in favor of releasing under build 118 (above) as development moved very quickly.

Bug fix: doodle overlay was not working for members publishing in 300×240 resolutions.

Bug fix: doodle overlay was crashing/lagging some PCs – changed doodle overlay draw method.

Bug fix: members with version 7 of flash player installed had issues with overlays – client now auto upgrades flash player version to version 8.

Bug fix: double clicking a sub catg name in the right pane of the rooms list caused an msg box: please select room name
*

Bug fix: custom away msgs – we now only store 10 away msgs, once you add the 11th, the oldest away msgs is auto deleted.

Bug fix: members with the 8 bit sound option checked in setup>prefs>sound tuning could not hear sound in new HQ audio rooms

Bug fix: video overlay button is hidden when an overlay is currently active, making the dropdown selection visible

Bug fix: Bad packet Alert msg box was being shown when switching between rooms with different Sound codec’s.

Bug fix: Sound test option was causing a client crash, added support for a defiant codec here to prevent the crash.

Bug fix: removed cancel buttons on video overlay flash install message boxes

Bug fix: increased timeout for login progress bar
*

Bug fix: Shortened the timeout value on the member list refresh to create faster member list initial load time.

Bug fix: other Im inter-op ad on auto downloads on installation, even if not requested, fixed this to only download when requested.

Change: overall look and feel of main container tweaked.

Feature: added welcome tab with welcome video for new members.

Change: added option on bottom of welcome tab to remove and not show this tab again.

Feature: nudge button/function added to IM windows and Private rooms.
*

Feature: added option in setup>prefs>MISC, ‘Bold nicknames on pals tab”, un-checking this option makes the nicknames non-bold next time the client is restarted.

Change: option added in setup>prefs>Event sounds, 3 levels of nudge sounds
*

Change: option added in setup>prefs>Event sounds, mute incoming nudges

Feature: new look/functionality of the Rooms list, added sub catgs and windows Explorer navigation behaviour.

Change: amount of current rooms in sub catgs shown when main catg node is expanded.

Change: Ultimate rooms now have priority listing and are shown when main catg is expanded.

Feature: added new smiley’s for x-Treme and Plus members.
*

Change: adult rated smiley’s disabled in G and R rated rooms, and are only shown if adult content filter is set to show adult rooms.

Feature: added ability to add custom away messages by clicking the status bar on bottom of main container and selecting “create your own away msg”
*

Feature: custom away msgs are now shown next to nickname on Pals tab, and when an IM is opened with a member.
*

Feature: option added in setup>prefs>MISC,”default to pals tab on start up” this makes the pal tab show first when the client is started.
*

Feature: (60% complete) overlays added to video, accessible from the button on the self view window when publishing video, available to x-Treme and Plus members only.
*

Feature: (50% complete) doodle feature added as an overlay, enables members to draw on the self view window when publishing video to a room and doodle is selected as the overlay, available to x-Treme and Plus members only.
