So A Week ago my Products on my Windows 7 Start Crashing, Like InstallShield. I was wondering why suddenly. After a few hours I gave up and Start looking for some help online. And thats when I discovered the  Tuesday Patch KB2962872 released and Applied by Microsoft as “Security Patch for Internet Explorer KB2962872″. This was reported by other Microsoft Members and later by Flexera Software. They are now investigating the incompatibility of many versions of InstallShield with Microsoft’s recent security update for Internet Explorer KB 2962872. Also called as the Black Tuesday Patch KB2962872. Which caused products to crash or load slowly.

In My Case InstallShield 2012 and 2013 kept crashing on startup. I later found out that this happens after the the Security Patch for IE was applied. And after checking my “Installed Updates” I found the same Patch. And Wolla. I have added 2 Methods and fixes for InstallShield below

I am not sure if it includes other fixes, but this is what I found out by Searching online. You can Read more about the Black Tuesday Patch KB2962872 by searching google.

———————————————-
FIX METHOD 1
———————————————-
To fix the issue you will have to Uninstall the “Security Patch Called “KB2962872“.

1) Goto your Control Panel >> Windows Update >> then choose “Installed Updates” from your left side Bottom.
– Wait untill all the Updates Loads.
– Look for the Security Update Patch that ends with (KB2962872)
– Click on it >> Choose UNINSTALL FROM THE TOP

– After its Uinstalled, MAKE SURE you RESTART YOUR WINDOWS, AND wHILE RESTARTING LET YOUR WINDOWS
GO THROUGH THE NEW UPDATE AND WAIT UNTIL ITS FINISHED.

And thats how you fix the Issues. Now the PRoducts that were not working should be fixed by noe.

——————–
FIX METHOD 2:
——————–

This method is only Issued for InstallShield. The fix is simple and requires you to move .htm files from 2 Different Folders.

1) Lets Start with the First Folder

–  Start  Moving all the .htm filed from:
C:ProgramFIlesInstallShieldInstallShieldVersionProgramLanguageCode

– Move it  to a new folder, Example:
C:ProgramFIlesInstallShieldInstallShieldVersionProgramLanguageCodeHTM-Backup

2) This is the Last folder that we are going to Move.

– So go a head amd move all the HTM files from:
C:ProgramFIlesInstallShieldInstallShieldVersionProgramLanguageCodeExpress

– Move it to a new folder, Example:
C:ProgramFIlesInstallShieldInstallShieldVersionProgramLanguageCodeExpressHTM-Backup

This was the workaround for InstallShield which makes InstallShield Crash on Start..

IMPORTANT: Your windows will eventually keeps noticing you about UPDATING your Computer using the same UDPATE that we just Uninstalled. I recommend you DO NOT UPDATE IT and wait untill another SECURITY PATCH HAS BEEN RELEASED. Or if you have Issues with InstallShield Only, then Ignore this Part and do not Delete the Updated Patch but instead
